In last week’s General Meeting of the Greene County Legislature, Chairman Patrick Linger recognized the outstanding work done by county workers for the benefit of our communities during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Employee of the Year: JoanAnn Rouse
Employee of the Year honors were given to JoanAnn Rouse. When nominated by the Executive Director of Human Services, Terry McGee Ward, the Central Kitchen Cook, and her team prepared and distributed over 220 meals daily at the Athens Rivertown Senior Center, as well as the Catskill & Coxsackie meal sites. During the past few months, that number has increased to 240 daily meals.

Chairman’s Award: All members of the Greene County Public Health Department
Since the time COVID-19 was recognized as an emerging threat, Greene County Public Health staff have worked tirelessly, seven days a week, to monitor and protect the health of the community. For many Public Health employees, this is not their usual work, but they have embraced it with dedication and excellence. As now add pandemic response, testing, reporting and contact tracking to the demands of providing ‘regular’ essential services, the 2020 Chairman’s Award was proudly accepted by Director Kimberly Kaplan for ALL members of the Greene County Public Health Department citing their loyal dedication and unwavering commitment.
