Tell NYS to Stop Underfunding Our Community College
As County leaders, the Greene County Legislature is deeply concerned about the persistent lack of funding for Workforce Development Programs at Columbia-Greene Community College.
To that end, we ask all Greene County residents and business owners to contact their NYS Representatives and urge them to support the Empire State Community College Workforce Guarantee and the additional $97 million in operating funds for SUNY’s 30 Community Colleges.
The residents of Greene County depend on Columbia-Greene Community College to provide the workforce training needed for high-demand, critical positions like nurses, law enforcement officers, building contractors, automotive technicians, and computer technology experts.
New York will lose its competitive edge without an investment in the institutions founded to support local employers and provide local training for the jobs needing to be filled to keep companies and communities thriving.
The Greene County Legislature has dispatched a resolution to strongly urge Governor Hochul to adopt the Empire State Community College Workforce Guarantee once passed by the NYS Legislature. We need you to make your voice heard by contacting your State Representative today:
