COLUMBIA MEMORIAL HEALTH SIGNS AGREEMENT WITH GREENE COUNTY IDA FOR A PURCHASE OPTION ON 4 ACRES OF “EXIT 21 WEST” PROPERTY
PLAN ENVISIONS THE “CMH MEDICAL PLAZA WEST” TO ADD SERVICES NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE IN GREENE COUNTY
Columbia Memorial Health (CMH) and the Greene County Industrial Development Agency (IDA) today announced an agreement for a purchase option on a 4-acre parcel of land located near New York State Thruway exit 21. The parcel is part of a 60-acre lot located west of the Thruway.
The option allows CMH to continue formalizing plans for “CMH Medical Plaza West,” where it envisions an expansion of services conveniently available to Greene County residents. Any planned expansion at the site would add to the array of services currently offered at CMH’s Greene Medical Arts facility in Jefferson Heights.
Jay P. Cahalan, President and CEO of Columbia Memorial Health, said: “CMH’s affiliation with Albany Med has positioned us to envision providing specialty care services currently not available in Greene County, providing local residents with convenient access to even more care.”
Eric Hoglund, Chairman of the Greene County IDA, said: “The availability of medical services is a key factor in attracting new business to the county. In our experience, corporate site selectors are strongly interested in investing in communities where their employees will have access to quality housing, recreation and medical care, and we are pleased to help CMH with their vision for the medical plaza.”
Cahalan, a long-time Greene County resident, added: “Over the last decade, CMH has invested heavily in Greene County services and locations. Thanks to the good work and vision of the Greene County IDA, and strong support for CMH initiatives by business leaders and local government, this project will add additional health care resources, and further expand healthcare service offerings in Greene County.”
Plans for specific services that may be located at the site are under review and discussion. Officials at CMH expect to identify those services and next steps in the coming months.
