There are less than two weeks until the closing date of the 2020 US Census, and the time is now to do our best to have all Greene County residents to complete it.
Greene County benefits the most when the census counts everyone. When you respond to the census, you help your community gets its fair share of the more than $675 billion per year in federal funds spent on schools, hospitals, roads, public works and other vital programs.
National workforce programs use census data to allocate funds to every state, and the states in turn use census data as part of their plans to distribute the funds to local areas. That means having accurate local census data is even more important as we seek to attract new employers to the area.
We all pay federal taxes. A full and accurate counting of everyone in Greene County helps us reclaim some of those tax dollars and bring them back home, where they can benefit us all.
If you have completed the census, now is the time to reach out to family and friends to make sure they have as well (and provide them with either the website address or phone number if they have not)
Remember, the deadline is Wednesday, September 30th, so there’s no time to waste.
Let’s all do our part to help keep our Greene County communities strong.
Be Well, Stay Safe, and Help Others Where You Can,
