The Federal Transportation Administration Fixing America’s Surface Transportation (FAST) Act mandates that projects for specific Federal Transit Administration (FTA) programs be included in a locally developed, public transit-human services transportation plan. The purpose of this coordinated plan is to identify ways to improve transportation services in Greene County and access to surrounding counties for persons with disabilities, older adults and individuals with lower incomes.
Greene County Coordinated Transportation Plan
The Greene County Transit (GCT) system offers safe, affordable, reliable public transportation services throughout Greene County. GCT, which is operated by The Arc of Ulster-Greene, is the most comprehensive public transportation system the county has seen. The GCT team provides daily service, Monday through Friday, to Athens, Cairo, Catskill, Coxsackie, Greenville, Palenville and across the Rip Van Winkle Bridge to Columbia-Greene Community College, Columbia Memorial Hospital and the city of Hudson. Weekly service is provided to the areas of Hunter/Tannersville and Windham.
