Teen Services

Walk-in’s Welcome every day!

Teen walk in clinic every Wednesday from 3-6pm
If you would like to make an appointment for any of the teen services described on this site, please give us a call at 518-719-3580 and one of us will be glad to help you.

Greene County Family Planning provides:

Confidential reproductive health care to adolescents. We encourage participation and involvement of family members in the counseling and care of adolescents. You are more than welcome to bring a parent or guardian, other adult, friend or partner with you to your visit.

Many of our adolescent clients have been referred here by their parent or some other family member who has received services at Greene County Family Planning.

If you bring someone with you, your confidentiality is still protected. We may not disclose information about you unless we have your consent. We are mandated child abuse reporters, so if a minor (a person under the age of 18) tells us they are being abused or neglected by their parent or guardian, we must report that to the Child Abuse Hotline.

Abstinence

Abstinence is the only 100% effective method of preventing pregnancy. It is also the only 100% effective method of preventing the transmission of sexually transmitted infections, including HIV.

There are also other good reasons to be abstinent. Here are some as listed on Advocates for Youth

What are the advantages of choosing abstinence?

• Abstinence is free and available to all.
• Abstinence is extremely effective at preventing both infection and pregnancy. It is the only 100% effective method of preventing sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and unintended pregnancy.
• Abstinence can be practiced at any time in one’s life.
• Abstinence may encourage people to build relationships in other ways.
• Abstinence may be the course of action which you feel is right for you and makes you feel good about yourself.
