Cards for Veterans

The Greene County Veterans Service Agency’s Valentines for Veterans program was so successful, it is now done year-round… New Years, Valentine’s Day, St Patrick’s Day, Easter, Armed Forces Day, July 4th, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and of course, Veterans Day! For those months without an official holiday, we go with a monthly theme.

There are presently 80 Veterans residing in local, long-term care and assisted living facilities. As we know, November has two important holidays – Veteran’s Day when we thank our past military personnel for their service to our country and freedom, and Thanksgiving when we thank God for all His blessings. This month, we hope you will do both holidays and send a card to our Veterans in these facilities. Yes, it is a lot to ask but both are special, and a card would so brighten their day. Each facility will hold all cards as they come in so they can distribute evenly among their resident veterans.

Please be sure to mark the card’s envelope, Attn: U S Veteran. You can either deliver the cards yourself or drop off at our Agency (159 Jefferson Heights, Suite D303, Catskill).

Deadline for Veteran’s Day 2022 cards will be Monday, November 7 and for Thanksgiving  2022 will be Friday, November 18.
