The Civil Division

The Sheriff’s Civil Office is located at 411 Main Street, Ste 212, Catskill, NY 12414. You can find us in the Greene County Office Building on the second floor. Our office is inside the County Clerk’s office. You will see us straight ahead.

We are here to serve and assist you Monday through Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm. Our office respects and honors the holidays recognized by Greene County. The main purpose and function of the Civil Office is to serve and execute various legal processes issued by New York courts and courts from other states and jurisdictions. Some of these processes are services of notices, summons, petitions, subpoenas, all stages of an eviction, orders and writs, and executions/judgements, including accepting payments. Other services are sheriff sales, civil arrests, and orders or seizures.

Civil & Judgment Payments

To make a payment, you will need the following:

• Payment amount
• Name of debtor
• Sheriff’s account number
• For credit card payments a 3.5% convenience fee will be added to the electronic transaction.
